The Lord is my strength, my song and my salvation!

The strongest man has not the strength
to withstand Satan's harsh attacks,
but Satan will give up at length
for Jesus has the power he lacks!

When songs no longer fill our hearts,
and praising something hard to do,
then that's when Jesus power imparts
to fill our hearts with songs anew.

But best of all, for those who sought
to free themselves from sin and shame
our Jesus on the cross has bought
salvation in His holy Name!

GOD HAS BLESSED ME!

Bless God, O my soul, for my God has blessed me!
Christ died on the cross so that I can be free
from all of my sins, cast far in the sea
of God's great forgiveness! How God has blessed me!

Be obedient!

Be obedient!

When God gives commands then be sure to obey,
and not be like Saul who did things his own way.
His deeds made God angry, so God did disown
the king He had chosen, and Saul lost his crown.

If we would be honoured by God, then be sure
to honour Him first and live lives that are pure;
for God detests sin; but to those who uphold
His every command He keeps riches untold!

God is waiting to answer our prayers!

2 Chronicles 7:14

God will answer prayer when He knows it is time;
but He has been waiting until the right clime
when His true believers are down on their knees
confessing where they disobeyed His decrees.
When God hears confessions, He's quick to begin
with boundless forgiveness for our every sin.

But He will go further by healing our land
with plenteous blessings from His loving hand.
So don't wait, my brother, there's plenty to do;
it's not just for others, it's also for you
to humble yourself and to ask God to bless
our land and our people with fresh righteousness.

Ask Him now!

Proverbs 14:32-33

There's a heaven for all God's righteous ones
who have done all things well;
but for those who chose a life of sin,
their steps will lead to hell.

For the righteous, in their wisdom, chose
to serve and honour God;
while the foolish sinners, by their choice,
the road to Hell have trod.

Yet it's not too late to make the change
from sinner; Christ will save
all who trust Him for salvation even
just before the grave;

like the dying thief on Cal'vry who
was almost at death's door
when he asked the Lord to help Him ...
and was saved for evermore!

Even now, if you will ask Him, Christ
will offer you His hand;
then together you will walk with Him
into the Gloryland!

God wants to BLESS us!

I've been blessed by God above in many ways that show His love.
If you would His rich love enjoy then spend your time in His employ!

Proverbs 14:28-29

Proverbs 14:28

People who are popular have earned it by their deeds;
doing things for others; reaching out to meet their needs!

Proverbs 14:29

Take your time to think things out before committing acts;
bad decisions will be made should you know not the facts!

In praise of God

In praise of God

Lord, I love You;
Lord, I bless You;
You I worship and adore;
not alone for how You've blessed me,
but for much more ... much, much more!

You alone are God Almighty,
worthy of all mankind's praise;
by Your power You have created
all that is - in just six days!

Sun and moon; the stars; the heavens;
all earth's lands and seas and plants;
then all living - man included -
all were made to meet Your wants.

By Your love man was created
to have fellowship divine
with You, Lord - Son, Father, Spirit -
and to hear You say: 'You're Mine!'

Barabbas or Jesus - Matthew 27:15-31

Barabbas or Jesus?

Barabbas was a criminal;
a murderer and thief
who represents the worst in man;
of sinners he was chief.
But Jesus was a sinless man;
no gentler would you find;
yet still He was rejected by
the leaders of His kind.

They hated all His miracles,
His teachings, and the good
that He was able to perform
with power from God above.
Unable to prevent Him from
being worshipped and adored,
they put in hand their wicked plan
to crucify ... the Lord!

When Judgment comes they'll ask themselves:
'Which one was best for me?
Barabbas, or Messiah Who
we sent to Calvary?'
Too late for them! But we can still
make Jesus Christ the One
to be our Friend and Saviour
when our time on earth is done!

Shining for God - Exodus 34:30

Shining for God

Moses' face was shining after forty days with God;
that was bound to happen for on holy ground he trod.
Picture what we'll look like when in heaven our Lord we see;
basking in God's glory, we will shine eternally!

Prayer
Lord, help me to shine for you with the radiance that comes from within me after fellowship with You. Amen.

Blessed

BLESSED
(Psalm 33:12)

Blessed are the Chosen ones whose God is the Lord;
blessed are the saints of God who revel in His word ;
they will dwell forever in the light of His love,
sharing the delights He has for them in heav'n above.

You are special to me

YOU ARE SPECIAL TO ME, LORD!

I can not say enough - finding words is quite tough! -
to describe how much You mean to me;
for Your friendship is choice,
and I always rejoice
when I think of how that came to be!

As a sinner I came to be cleansed in Your Name
from the sins that have tainted my life.
To my sorrow and shame
I must carry the blame
for a life that has brought me much strife.

But my life is now sweet for I sit at Your feet
every day and rejoice in Your love.
With my sins washed away
I am sure that, one day,
I will join You in heaven above.

Lord, help me to discern all temptation, and spurn
every sinful attraction I see;
I do trust You, and pray
for Your guidance each day,
grateful that You are special to me!

THE CHRISTIAN ROAD

THE CHRISTIAN ROAD

The Christian road is not for weak and vacillating souls.
Each day we need to boldly speak
of Christ and how His will we seek
to help set Godly goals.

While that we do, the devil tries to throw us off our course.
But by God's help we realise
that we must always keep our eyes
on Jesus, our Resource.

For He supplies all that we need to run the Christian race;
and if His Word we always heed
and let His Spirit take the lead,
we'll see Him face to face!

So do not be disheartened by the trials you undergo,
for they will strengthen you to run
the Christian road with God's own Son
while living here below.

Then one day we will hear Him say, 'Well done, my faithful one!
Come up above and sit with Me
in heaven for eternity;
and wear the crown you've won!'

Be Wise: Attitude is everything!

Pro_9:11-12.

We need to be wise in our dealings with others. A good attitude will result in less stress and attract the support of those who are blessed by our words and ways. Put in another way, they will respond to us.

A bad attitude will result in people reacting to us, creating tensions that can shorten life.

By loving those around us
we show the world that we
belong to God Who bound us
to Him eternally.

Surrender

Psa_35:1-16.

When we hand our lives over to the Lord we must believe that He is going to deal with our enemies. Apart from Satan and his demons, and natural enemies in the world, it is about overcoming the carnal nature in us, the nature that keeps on wanting to degrade us. As we get the victory over inbred sin we will more readily rejoice.

'Tis in a life surrendered to
God's cleansing of all inbred sin
that He is able to renew
His mighty power within.

Be Obedient

Mar_1:1-28.

  1. John's baptism was by using water after confession and repentance for the forgiveness. The implication of v.8 was that his baptism required water, but not so with that of Jesus, Who would give us (baptize with) the Holy Spirit. Nothing else was needed. Once Jesus had been baptized by John He had fulfilled one of the law's requirements so it was not required of His followers. That is the significance of Jesus saying: ‘It is finished’. Nothing needs to be added to what He has done.
  2. Twelve disciples responded positively to Jesus' call. How many did not? We don't know, but the lesson is: if Jesus calls then it is best to respond (and don't turn back like Judas).
  3. 'Follow me' says Jesus; He will enable us to succeed as Christians. We are never to follow any man.
  4. With the Holy Spirit within, teaching us, we must learn to teach the Gospel with authority and power.
Respond. Be True.

We know of twelve disciples who
responded to His call;
one stayed not true so never knew
That Christ was God of all!

In God's Service

Exo_39:1-43; Exo_40:1-38.

  1. God knows what He wants - in minutest detail. That applies to us, too.
  2. Only the best is acceptable, in materials or our service.
  3. Service must be dedicated to God before it will be honoured by God.

SERVICE FOR GOD

When God calls us to service
we should not hesitate;
there's no need to be nervous
or get into a state.

For He knews we are lacking
in talent, power and skill;
so He gives all the backing
we need to do His will.

We only need be willing
to do whate'er God asks.
He'll work through us, fulfilling
the most demanding tasks.

Fear The Lord!

Psa_34:11-22.

We must learn to fear the Lord. That is the word of Wisdom - Wisdom starts with the fear of God. That is being smart, for the fear of God will cause us to want to know what God wants of us through His word; and obedience to God’s revealed will brings security, joy and peace.

BE SMART!
(Based on Psalm 34:11 and Prov 9:9)

David knew the perils that life could bring each day
That is why he sought God’s help when he ran away.
Having Saul in hot pursuit wasn’t really fun,
well aware that he’d be dead if he didn’t run!

So he ran, but ne’er forgot: God was on his side,
And was always there for him; in Him he’d confide.
That was smart, for knowing God meant that he was sure
of God’s promise: ‘You’ll be king!’ This made him endure!

On his own he had no chance, but with God as Guide
He would always be secure – he on God relied!
That is why he urges us: ‘Learn to fear the Lord;
Here’s the smart thing you can do; take Him at His Word!’

Make Disciples

Mat_28:1-20.

We are to make disciples. This is the command from Jesus to all the disciples, i.e. not only the eleven. The lies about Jesus' death and resurrection are still perpetuated today; but those in whose hearts He dwells KNOW that He has risen from the grave and is alive today!

MAKE DISCIPLES!

‘Make disciples!’ that’s the word
From the lips of Christ our Lord.
For if sinners we can bring
to the feet of Christ our King
where they full salvation claim –
victory in Jesus’ Name –
then He will be magnified,
worshipped, praised and glorified!

God Equips Us for Our Calling

Exo_37:1-29; Exo_38:1-31.

God puts into us the skills, talents and abilities that we need for the work He calls us to do. No work He calls us to do is beyond our ability to handle. To get the job done we simply need to respond to God's call and get on with it!

Thus, in my case, I must get on with writing for the Glory of God! And it must line up with 2Ti_4:1-5.

THOSE GOD CALLS HE EQUIPS

God gives us all the powers we need
to do the work He calls us to.
All we must do is pay Him heed
when He tells us what we must do.

For all He wants of us is – us;
obedient, yielded to His will;
and if we do not stray or fuss,
He’ll use us for His work until

we grow in faith and inner strength
as He makes all we do succeed.
So give your all, for God at length
Will use you
